Quick fixes never worked for me
I reached a point where I knew I couldn’t sit back and do nothing. I didn’t like the way I looked, I avoided social events and I was constantly battling low self-esteem. My relationship with food was completely unhealthy – I saw it as the enemy rather than something that could fuel and nourish me.
I had tried every diet imaginable. I’m talking Keto, Slimming World – even a diet where I only ate chicken and eggs. They all worked for a couple of weeks, but I always lost motivation. I’d get bored, feel deprived and end up bingeing. It was exhausting.
The emotional weight of my low self-worth
It’s no exaggeration to say that my weight had a profound negative impact on my daily life. The simplest activities, like climbing a set of stairs, would leave me winded. I would even avoid social situations and dinners out with my boyfriend. This became all the more clear when I had my son. It wasn’t just physical – emotionally, I felt trapped in a cycle of self-doubt.
At 23, I should’ve been thriving, confident in who I was, but instead, I felt like I was constantly fighting against myself. I couldn’t escape the constant self-criticism and negativity about how I looked.
Choosing Voy
I found Voy through TikTok and started looking into it online. I loved the idea, but I did have some concerns – mainly about side effects, since you always hear the worst stories. But after researching and seeing real experiences, I decided to go for it.
The side effects have been manageable, too. The main symptoms are sulphur burps and a bit of nausea the day after my dose, especially when I increased it. It’s not the most pleasant feeling, but I’ve found that staying hydrated and eating the right foods helps a lot. Plus, the side effects only last a short time, and for me, the benefits far outweigh the temporary discomfort.
